DESCRIPTION:

We offer foryour consideration an original WW1 French comic postcard showing the Czar in military uniform Bowling at St Petersburg, Russia. Russia and France are allies in WW1. Comic postcards such as this are not common.The postcard was produced in Paris by Breger and Lang. In 1917 the Russian Revolution removed the Czar from power and he and his family were taken to Ekaterinburg where they were all executed by the communists on 17th July, 1918. This ended the reign of the Romanovs. Postcards pertaining to the Romanovs still generate considerable interest.
