We offer for your consideration an original very scarce C.1900 group of 12 photos affixed to an album page double sided featuring 6 images of the Boer War Contingent with one showing soldiers in the train that left from the old parade ground on the eastern side of King William Street with the train going under King William Street to the Adelaide Railway Station then on to Largs to the overseas shipping berth. There are two images of Adelaide scenes one of which is the Botanic Gardens. There are 4 images of the Duke of York’s visit to the races at Victoria Park. The Duke can be seen riding in the open carriage to the races. The images are in good condition and quite clear. This is a quite scarce set of early Adelaide images especially the ones of the Duke of York. The photo of the races with the pavilion in the background has a blemish tear on the RH side. The album board has a tear at the bottom RH corner which does not affect the corner photo. There’s a slight crease line just above the two bottom photos
